There are a few different ways to train your puppy to go to the bathroom in the right place:

  1. Let them go outside frequently to use the restroom
  2. Reward them when they use the restroom correctly
  3. Feed your puppy on a regular time schedule
  4. Know when your puppy last went to the bathroom.

Puppies need to go about every thirty minutes, but it also depends on when they last ate/drank and their physical activity. Look for signs the puppy will make before going to the bathroom. Sometimes they sniff around and squat. If they start to do this then hurry up and take them outside before it’s too late. Take him outside and feed him around the same times every day to put him on a schedule. When you are not home keep your puppy in a crate or a confined place for him to stay until you get home. Make sure he has his toys, bed, and food/water bowls with him. The key to training your puppy is to have patience. You need to have a lot of it and never get mad at him for doing something wrong. They are learning.
