Edited Examples

	Many edited examples can make more of an impact through combining unrealistic elements. Neighborhoods are a fairly familair sight along with dark skies. Brighter clouds, an unnaturally lit foreground and a somewhat strange perspective make something seemingly mundane less recognizable. The liminal aspect presents itself in how its lighting represents multiple different times at once. A night sky in the distance with a neighborhood as bright as day.
An odd trend present through many liminal space edits are pools. Whether it be through corridors like this, entire homes, staircases or other bizarre archeticture, the indoor pool aesthetic is present. Almost all images in the subgenre tend to feature marble white architecture similar to an actual pool. The reasoning for its popularity could be a combination is the how familiar these kinds of pools are along with the bizarreness of seeing buildings like this. For many, these may not even feel like liminal spaces at all, rather just dreamlike imagery. Some edits even appear to add lore to them and treat them as infinite pool filled mazes.
	These types of edits are typically the most simple as it appears only filters have been added. An exit of what appears to be a school or similar building is a liminal space as is but the filter added is intended to accentuate these feelings. The photo is a bit grainy along with having the blue tones made more prominent. These types of filters are often used in both nostalgia posts and in analog horror. Although the case displayed seems to be much more leading into a nostalgic angle as opposed to any kind of horror.
