There's a multitude of reasons why the Beatles split up. There are many stories and rumors that have went around over the years after the break. For nearly half a century Paul was thought to be the one to break them up. The reality is that the band had a history of issies.

There were many falling outs over the years that the band was together and toward the end they didn't get along and the dynamic was different than before. During the making of their last albulm there wasn't much motivation to make anymore music and do shows as a band.

Though not one person truly broke up the band, John leaving was the end of the Bealtes. In and interview Paul said he was arguing with John when he said "I wasn’t going to tell you till we signed the Capitol deal but I’m leaving the group!" paul said "I remember him saying, ‘It’s weird this, telling you I’m leaving the group, but in a way it’s very exciting.’ It was like when he told Cynthia he was getting a divorce. He was quite buoyed up by it, so we couldn’t really do anything: ‘You mean leaving’? So that’s the group, then…’ It was later, as the fact set in, that it got really upsetting."

Many also blame Yoko, Johns girlfriend, for the breakup. According to the other band member she was actually a very large factor in the split. John seemed to have no time for the band and only fot Yoko. She also had say in what the band did. George even said that at one point it seems like Yoko had more of an opinion and authority than he did in the band.
