Stinking Corpse Flower-
This flower is a rainforest native plant. The name is inspired by its strong corpse stench. It can reach over 10 feet (about 3 meters) tall. While it's in bloom, the tip of the spadix is roughly human body temperature, which helps the smell weaken, this helps scientists believe the idea that this is why it attracts carcass-eating insects. |
