Papua New Guinea is where you'll see birds of paradise the most frequently, but they may also be found in Australia and Indonesia. Most people know them for their vibrant appearance, which they exploit to entice a mate. They not only employ their colors to draw attention to themselves, but also dances like the one performed by the Crescent-caped Lophorina, in which they fan their wings onto their heads. Only the males have such vibrant feathers, much like peacocks, as they have the unfortunate tendency to attract predators.
