They were one of the most popular bands of all time and are largely considered to be one of the greatest bands of all time and have had great influence in the music industry.

The Beginning

The Beatles were just four kids livignin liverpool than unexpected became one of the most successful groups in modern history.

It all started ed ed with John Lennon. It was 1957 and John was 16 years old playing as a rythym-guitarist in his skiffle band, The Quarrymen. They were booked to perform at events at a church in Woolton, Liverpool. While the band was setting up for a performance later in the evening, the bands bass guitarist introduced Lennon to a classmate, 15 year old paule McCartney. They let Paul join in on a couple of number that night and he was soon offered a permanent spot in the band.

In October Paul played in his first official event with the group. He was to play a guitar solo despite this being his first time performing.“For my first gig, I was given a guitar solo on ‘Guitar Boogie.’ I could play it easily in rehearsal so they elected that I should do it as my solo,” McCartney said in an interview. “Things were going fine, but when the moment came in the performance I got sticky fingers; I thought, ‘What am I doing here?’ I was just too frightened; it was too big a moment with everyone looking at the guitar player. I couldn’t do it. That’s why George was brought in.”

George Harrison, also 15 at the time, would join the Quarrymen and be the lead guitarist. The three of them, John, Paul, and George, would then become the core that would soon became one of the most beloved bands in history. From 1958 to 1959 the band gig whenever they could, whether it was at family event or local partis or if it was a professional booking at a club or restaurant.

Throughout the time period of the Quarrymen there were many member who came and went but the band revolved around the 3 boys. They had many drummers but couldn't settle on one. Thats where Pete Best came in. Pete played with the Quarrymen from 1959-1962 until he was fired. This left the Quarrymen, who were just renamed the Bealtes, to be once again without a drummer.

That's where Ringo Starr came in. Ringo was 22 which would make him the oldest member of the Beatle when he was called in to replace Pete. He would become the bands permanent drummer. These are the four final members that were that made up the infamous band, The Beatles, until they broke up nearly a decade later.
