He would be part of Jose Morinho's back-to-back Premier League run in the 2004/05 and 2005/06 seasons, winning one more league title in 2009/10 before departing for Turkish side Galatasaray in 2012. Spending all but two seasons in England, he started out at West Ham United in 1995/96. He stayed there until the end of the 2000/2001 season, in which he made his move to Chelsea.
