Pierce the Veil is a four-member American rock band consisting of Vic Fuentes (vocals, rhythm guitar), Tony Perry (lead guitar), Jaime Preciado (bass guitar, backing vocals), and Dan Palmer (drums). The band formed in 2006 in San Diego, California, and have since released five studio albums. Their music is known for its combination of post-hardcore, punk rock, and pop punk elements, as well as emotionally charged lyrics dealing with themes such as love, loss, and mental health. The band has gained a devoted fanbase and critical acclaim for their unique sound and passionate performances.

The album marks the band's first release without drummer Mike Fuentes, who departed in 2017 following allegations of sexual misconduct. The record features collaborations with Brad Hargreaves and Chloe Moriondo, and has been described as having a more melodic and intimate sound than previous releases while taking influence from '90s grunge bands.

 

Controversy  
 

Pierce the Veil Group PhotoMike Fuentes, former drummer of Pierce the Veil, was accused of sexual misconduct by several women in late 2017. Fuentes initially denied the allegations, but later issued a statement admitting to having inappropriate relationships with fans. He took a break from the band and entered rehab. In 2018, Pierce the Veil announced that Fuentes was no longer a member of the band. The controversy sparked conversations within the music industry about the need for safer environments for fans and accountability for artists. Fuentes has remained relatively quiet since the controversy, while Pierce the Veil continues to make music and tour without him.
